What’s your line in the sand?
We’ve witnessed many people over the last eight years finally reach their line in the sand when it comes to Donald Trump. That latest is Sen. Thom Tillis from North Carolina over Trump’s One Big Barbaric Bill.
Great.
Late as hell, but still something.
There’s a lot I could say about him, Mitch McConnell, and even Mike Pence, but I’ve actually heard something today that trumps (pun intended) the importance of their cowardice.
It’s the words of the Donald himself.
Apparently, he thought it would be a great idea to stand in front of the world on the NATO stage and tell everyone that he gave Iran permission to strike our military base in Qatar.
Yup, you read that right.
I couldn’t believe it either. I literally had to dig for the entire speech (which is over 47 minutes long) and suffer listening to him repeatedly to make sure I heard him correctly. Even then, I looked up the transcript of his speech to ensure I didn’t get it wrong.
Just listen for yourself:
I’m so angry.
I don’t know how any American can listen to this man and not be furious with the way he uses our military to promote himself.
From the absolutely disgusting way he talked about John McCain and other prisoners of war to that bullshit campaign stunt at Arlington National Cemetery, he continually disrespects our military and veterans.
I’m sick of people, including the damn media, pretend like you don’t hear this man and the incredulous things he says. It’s not just about Republican versus Democrats. This is the fate of our country and our international security. How the world perceives us matters. And we have seen repeatedly what other world leaders think of Donald Trump.
They mock him.
It makes us look weak.
It also makes us look stupid as citizens to have put him in charge.
If you can’t see that or admit that it’s true, you might seriously want to check in with a physician or Jesus because you’re definitely lost. I don’t say that to be demeaning or rude. I say it because I’m over this situation and the harm it’s doing to our country and I’m not sure what it’s going to take to get some people to see what’s truly happening.
Anyway…
Rant over. I’m going back to informing people of the facts, organizing them to contact their legislators, and preparing for the midterms.
It is appalling! I am at a loss when I see comments on articles and posts that defend his every word and action. I too, would love to know where that line in the sand sits and what it will take for people to say, enough is enough!
